Apple Cogan (Mrs. Gerki)

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup butter or oleo
• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• ** Top of Cake **
• Cinnamon over apples
• 2 Tbsp butter
• 1/2 cup sugar or more
• 3 Tbsp flour

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, salt.

Beat egg and mix well with above ingredients with hands.

Pat out dough in a pan 11 by 7 by 1"

Slice apples in quaters and place in rows over dough.

[Sprinkle apples with cinnamon. Crumble 'Top of Cake' over apples.]

Bake at 400 oven for 20 minutes then reduce heat to 375 and bake until apples are done.
