Ingredients
- 1 3/4 c self rising flour
- 6 T unsalted butter or margarine
- 2 ripe bananas
- 6 T caster sugar
- 4 T milk
- 1 egg beaten
- 4 T plain chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- Glossy Chocolate sauce, to serve
- 1 1/2 c caster sugar
- 4 T water
- 6 oz plain chocolate chop into pieces
- 2 T unsalted butter
- 2 T brandy or oj

Preparation
Step 1
Prepare steamer or half fill saucepan with water and bring to boil. Grease 1 3/4 pint/4 cup pudding basin. Sift flour into bowl and rub in batter til coarse bread crumbs. Mash bananas and stir into flour mixture, then add sugar and mix well. Whisk milk with egg then beat into pudding mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Spoon mixture into prepared basin, cover closely with double thickness of foil and stem 2 hours, topping off water as needed. Run knife around top of pudding to loosen and turn out onto serving dish. Serve hot with sauce.
Sauce
Place sugar and water in heavy based saucepan and heat gently, stir occasionally with wooden spoon until sugar dissolved. Stir in chocolate til melted then add butter in same way. do not allow sauce to boil. Stir in brandy and serve warm.
