Ingredients

  • 1 lb light brown sugar
  • 3/4 c milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • butter
  • 1/2 c chopped nuts (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Place sugar and milk in a saucepan
Bring to a boil stirring constantly
Place candy thermometer in mixture and cook until 238 degrees (may take up to 30 minutes)
Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes
Mix in vanilla and stir for a couple of minutes
Spread in greased baking dish (greased with butter)
