Ingredients
- Icing:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 pint sour cream
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 can whole cranberry sauce
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 T water or milk
- 1/2 tsp almond flavoring

Step 1
Grease and flour tube pan. Preheat oven to 350. In large mixing bowl, cream butter and add sugar. One at a time, add eggs. In another large bowl, mix remaining dry ingredients. Add them, alternating with the sour cream, to the creamed butter and sugar. Add almond extract and mix well. Layer 1/2 of the batter in the tube pan. Spoon 1/2 of the cranberry sauce around the top of fruit. Layer the rest of the batter and top with the remaining cranberry sauce. Optional: Sprinkle 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans on top. Bake 55 minutes at 350. Cool before removing from pan. When cake has cooled, mix icing and drizzle over top.
