Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°.

Combine peaches, 1 cup of the sugar and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from the heat. Place butter in a deep baking dish and put in the oven to melt.

Mix remaining cup of sugar, flour and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. DO NOT STIR! Spoon fruit over top, gently pouring in syrup. Batter will rise to the top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.

This was fantastic! Made it with 6 large fresh peaches. I cooked the peaches in 3/4 cup of brown sugar and a tsp. of vanilla (and the water, of course) and used 3/4 cup granulated sugar in the flour mix. I grated a little fresh nutmeg on top before cooking. Mine was done after 35 minutes. Served it with homemade whipped cream. Everyone loved it.

YummOOOOOOOOOO I made this last night with whipped cream. The only change I made was I mixed 4 cups of raspberries, peaches & apples for the fruit. It's actually better the next day right out of the fridge!

This was awesome with the fresh Georgia peaches I had to use. I didn't have any self rising flour so I used Homemade Self-Rising Flour - Substitute to save the day.Yum Yum Yum. Thanks for sharing Marie!

I made this today. It's good but very sweet, I'd cut down on the sugar next time. I did add vanilla and cinnamon to my peaches. It is beautiful, thanks for sharing.

I just love this!!!! When I make it I scoop vanilla bean ice cream on it. YUM

Quick and easy Sunday night dessert. Great with Haagen Daaz Vanilla Ice Cream. I botched it and used all-purpose flour, but the crust did manage to rise. I also used canned peaches instead of fresh; I didn't cook them, just added the required amount of sugar.

This is real easy to make which is great - you can whip it together after dinner and have it warm for dessert with iced cream or whipped cream. However, the batter (which rises to the top very nicely!) was not as tasty as it is in some of the other cobbler recipes.

I usually use pie crust to top my cobblers, but my DH wanted me to make one closer to the way his mom made them. This recipe is not the one I am searching for to meet his request yet I found this cobbler to be easy to put together and quite good. I did add cinammon, nutmeg, & vanilla to the fresh peaches.

This is one deliciously sweet recipe....and easy to make.
