Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar
  • Bread crumbs mixed with melted butter and Parmeasan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

In medium saucepan over medium heat melt butter. Add flour and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in milk and seasonings; cook stirring frequently till mixture boils and thickens. Stir cheese into milk gradually until melted.

Meanwhile cook pasta according to package directions and drain.

In a 2-quart baking dish, stir together pasta and cheese sauce. Spread bread crumbs on top. Bake 30 minutes, uncovered, until brown on top and bubbly hot.
