Taco Salad 0 Picture

  • Garnishment:
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans drained
  • 1 package taco seasoning mix (just add the mix - don't prepare according to package)
  • 1/2 cup taco sauce (I use Old El Paso brand)
  • 2 cloves garlic, dices
  • 1 pint grape tomatoes, cut in half
  • 1 head of lettuce or 2 bags of prewashed lettuce
  • 1 cup finely shredded Mexican cheese mix
  • 1 can 2.25 oz sliced black olives
  • 1 bunch of green onion (sliced ) - optional
  • 1 large bag of Doritos (Nacho Cheese flavor)
  • 1 large bottle of Western dressing
  • Sliced avocados
  • Sour cream
  • Sliced jalapenos

Step 1

Brown beef with garlic and onion. Add pinto beans, taco seasoning mix and the taco sauce. The beef should not be too "soupy". If it looks like it is too dry, just add a tablespoon of water. Let beef cool completely in refrigerator. Mix beef mixture, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, olives, and onions (optional) in large salad bowl. Place in refrigerator until ready to serve(at least 30 minutes).

When ready to serve, add 1/2 bag of Doritos (break them down a little bit) and 1/2 bottle of dressing. Toss gently to coat. Add rest of bag and dressing. Toss gently, again.
