Ingredients

  • Cream together one at a time

  • 1

    C shortening

  • C sugar

  • 1

    tsp vanilla

  • 3

    eggs, separated (blend yolks in, beat whites stiff then fold in)

  • 1

    C cold water

  • C pureed tomatoes

  • Sift together

  • C cake flour

  • ½

    C dry cocoa

  • tsp baking soda

  • 1

    tsp salt

Directions

Mix dry mixture into creamy mixture. Bake in two greased and floured 81/2 inch round pans at 350 for 35-40 min Frost with chocolate butter frosting. Top with strawberries.
