Crack cookies

Pre-heat oven 350°, rack in middle

Ingredients

• 1 box of soda space saltine crackers
• 2 sticks unsalted butter(1 cup, 8 ounces)
• 1 cup of sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 1/2 cup salted nut pieces

Preparation

Step 1

Line cookie sheet pan with aluminum foil, spray with Pam cooking spray. Cover pan, with parchment paper. Place soda crackers on cookie sheet. Soda crackers, salt side up. Set aside.
cook topping, in a heavy saucepan, butter, sugar, and extract.
Boil 5 min., stirring constantly. Pour over crackers. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake 350° oven for 10 min. let cool, pull off foil, break randomly.
