Ingredients

2 C brown sugar (packed)
3/4 C shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 C flour
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 C buttermilk
1 tsp. soda

Preparation

Step 1

Mix brown sugar, shortening, salt & flour as for pie crust. Set aside 1/2 C of crumbs. Make a hole in middle. Pour in egg, buttermilk & soda. Top with crumbs and bake.
