Ingredients

  • 3 cups dried white navy beans, soaked overnight
  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 1 1@ cups water
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 Vidalia or other sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. ground mustard
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • salt
  • pepper

Preparation

Step 1

Drain beans, and place them in the insert of a 4 qt. slow cooker. Add ketchup, water, molasses, onion, mustard, bacon, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours. Taste, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
