  • 1 lb. cooked ham cut into 1-inch cubes (about 3 cups)
  • 1 cup dried navy beans, sorted and rinsed
  • 2 medium stalks celery, sliced (1 cup)
  • 1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
  • 2 medium carrots, sliced (1 cup)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Step 1

In a 3 and 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except parsley.
