- FRIED SHRIMP:
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1 TablespoonCreole mustard
- 1 Tablespoon hot sauce
- 1/2 cup self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
- 2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Peanut oil, for frying

- SPICY REMOULADE SAUCE:
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 2 Tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoon Creole mustard
- 1 Tablespoon hot sauce
- Juice of 1/2 lemon

Step 1
FRIED SHRIMP:
1. Heat deep fryer with peanut oil to 375.
2. Whisk together buttermilk, egg, and mustard in a casserole dish.
3. In another casserole dish, whisk together flour, cornmeal, paprika, salt, cayenne, and garlic powder.
Dredge the shrimp in the dry mixture, then into the wet mixture, then back into the dry.
4. Add the shrimp in batches to the fryer and cook til golden, about 2 minutes a batch.

SPICY REMOULADE SAUCE:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Stir til well combined. Chill til ready to serve.
