Tangy Topper Poppy Seed Dressing

Onion and poppy seeds flavor this creamy salad dressing, which goes on fresh spinach-and-fruit salad at My Just Desserts restaurant in Alton, Illinois. Try it on cut-up cantaloupe, watermelon and blueberries.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salad oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup coarsely chopped onion
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Preparation
Step 1
1. In a blender container, combine salad oil, sugar, vinegar, onion and salt. Cover; blend until smooth. Add poppy seeds. Blend 2 seconds more.
2. Transfer the dressing to a covered container and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Whisk well before serving. Makes about 1-14 cups.
