Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/3 cups brown sugar packed and divided
  • 1/4 cup plus 3 T baking cocoa, divided
  • 2 T baking powder
  • 14 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 T melted butter
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cups hot water
  • vanilla ice cream

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, one cup brown sugar, 3 T ccoa, baking powder, and salt, In a medium bowl whisk in milk, butter and vanilla. Spread evenly in a slow cooker. Mix together remaining brown sugar and 1/3 cup cocoa and sprinkle over top.
Pou hot water, do not stir,. Cover and cook on high settings. for 2 hours. Until tooth pick comes out clear. Spoon cake into bowl and top with ice cream.
