  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream, warmed
  • 6 oz white chocolate, chopped
  • Apples, pears, grapes, dried apricots, marshmallows, pretzels, angel food cake for dipping

Step 1

In a large saucepan over medium heat, stir the sugar and water until the sugar dissolves. Increase heat to med.-high and let cook undisturbed until amber colored, about 5 minutes. If outer edges begin to brown first, lift the pan and gently swirl around.

Slowly whisk in the warmed cream. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until slightly reduced, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate until melted. Transfer to fondue pot carefully. Let cool at least 10 minutes before eating. Serve with dippers.
