Chocolate Peppermint Cookies - Christmas

I love to bake at Christmas and these pretty Chocolate and Peppermint Cake Cookies are the perfect treat at home or for gifts. They are so moist and easy to make using boxed cake mix. Enjoy!

Ingredients

• 1 box Pillsbury Devils Food Cake Mix
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1 tablespoon flour
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 1/2 tablespoons milk
• 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
• 1/4 cup crushed candy canes or 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint oil

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.

Mix together all the cookie ingredients. Roll into 1” balls and place on a cookie sheet.

Put into the oven for 10-15 minutes. Take out and let cool for about 5 minutes then transfer to a wire cooling wrack placed over a piece of parchment paper. Let the cookies cool and make your icing.

If you choose to use peppermint oil, then mix it in with the icing. Spoon icing over the tops of the cookies then sprinkle on the peppermint.

Let the icing fully dry then package your Chocolate Peppermint Cake Cookies however you wish!
