Ingredients
- 18 oz. chocolate chips
- 1/2 lb (2 sticks) butter
- 1 12-oz can evaporated milk
- 4 1/4 c. sugar.
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 10 1/2 oz bag miniature marshmallows
- 1 t. vanilla
- Optional: 1/2 to 3/4 lb chopped nuts

Step 1
Melt chocolate ships in a double-boiler or in a microwave
In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add evaporated milk and salt. Slowly add sugar, stirring until completely dissolved. Continue to heat and stir until mixture begins to boil. Boil for 6 minutes, stirring regularly. Remove from heat and stir in melted chocolate chips. Stir in marshmallows about 1/3 at a time. Add vanilla.
When all are melted together, pour into a buttered pan to cool. Cut and serve
Makes approximately five pounds
