Ingredients
- 1/2 lb butter (no substitutions)
- 1/2 lb cream cheese
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 jar strawberry preserves

Preparation
Step 1
1. Mix butter and cream cheese thoroughly. Add flour. Divide into 2 balls and refrigerate 1 hour.
2. Roll out dough on floured board (My notes: how about a sugared board?) Cut out circles with a cookie cutter or glass. Put teaspoon of jam in center and roll over. Crimp edges with a fork or crimper. Brush with beaten egg.
3. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden. Sprinkle with powdered sugar OR
4. Glaze with a confectioner's sugar/water glaze that will harden or just sprinkle with confectioner's sugar when serving.
