Jack's Strawberry Jam Bread

Jack really liked this bread! Recipe can be cut in half to make just one loaf. It's what I usually do and it works very well.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. lemon extract
- 4 large eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 cup strawberry jam
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chopped walnuts

Step 1
1. Beat butter, sugar and extracts until light and creamy. Add eggs. one at a time, beating well aftet each addition. Sift dry ingredients. Set aside.
2. Combine jam and sour cream and add to egg mixture alternately with dry ingredients. Do not over-mix. Stir in nuts.
3. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8" loaf pans, fillng about 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 40-55 minutes, dependng on sizes of Use toothpick test to check degree of doneness. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pans. Makes 2-8" loaves
