You can make this food everyday if you want, but we only make pumpkin bread around the holidays. This tasty treat will satisfy you at any time of the day for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Ingredients

  • BREAD:
  • 3 1/3 cups flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup water
  • ...........................
  • TOPPING:
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Sift dry ingredients into a mixer bowl. Quickly add remaining ingredients. Mix only until dry ingredients are mixed.


Bake in two greased 9-x-5-x-3-inch pans in preheated oven for 1 hour at 350 degrees; cool 5 minutes.



Remove from pans and while warm brush with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Bake at 350 degrees. Best of made a day before serving.

MY NOTES: I melted the butter, added the sugar and cinnamon and brushed it over the hot pumpkin bread!
