FROSTING FOR RED VELVET CAKE
Got this recipe from a cookbook from my Grandma - she worked at Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre - the book was put together in 1982. This is a bit of work - but a really, really good frosting - creamy but not too sweet!!

Ingredients
- 5 tbsp flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup icing sugar

Preparation
Step 1
Make a paste of the flour and part of the milk. Add remaining milk gradually and mix until smooth. Cook over medium heat till thick. Remove from heat and refrigerate till very cool. Cream the butter with icing sugar and vanilla. Mix until smooth. Add flour mixture 1 tsp at a time and continue to beat till fluffy. Add cocoa for chocolate icing at time of icing sugar.
