Ingredients

  • 2

    lbs. lean beef stew meat

  • salt, pepper, and paprika

  • 2

    Tbsp. dry onion soup mix

  • 6

    medium potatoes

  • 8

    white boiling onions (quarter regualr sized onions)

  • 3

    carrots, quartered

  • 1

    can cream of celery soup

Directions

Season meat with salt, pepper, and paprika and onion soup mix. Place in Dutch oven. Add whole potatoes, onions, and carrots. Blend soup with 1/2 can water and 1/4 C. vermouth or wine. Pour over meat. Cover and bake at 250-300 degrees for 4 hours. Can serve over rice; then use fewer potatoes. I usually use cream of chicken soup and water only. Also I use more dry onion soup mix.
