Ingredients

  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 medium onion, chopped into small pieces
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 cans crushed tomatoes
  • Oregano to taste (1-2 Tbsp fresh chopped or 1/2 to 1 tsp dried)

Step 1

Crush garlic with flat blade of knife, then chop into tiny pieces. Add a few tablspoons olive oil to skillet, then add chopped garlic. Cook over low to medium heat stirring frequently until you can smell the garlic. Add chopped onion. Sprinkle onion with salt and stir. Continue cooking onion and garlic until onion is translucent. Add crushed tomatoes and about 1/2 cup water and oregano. Simmer for about an hour(low heat, stirring frequently). The sauce should coat the spoon. If it gets too thick, add a little more water. A great sauce for Meatballs Italiano.
