Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups siffted flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cups quick cooking oats
- 1 15oz can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 12oz package semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 tsp vanilla

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup of butter & brown sugar. Beat in eggs and the 2 tsp vanilla. Sift flour, soda, salt, and stir in oats. Stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture until blended; set aside.
In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt together sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, remaining butter, stirring until smooth. Stir in nuts and remaining vanilla.
Pat 2/3 of oat mixture in the bottom of a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 baking pan (jelly roll pan). Spread chocolate mixture over dough. Dot with the remaining oat mixture.
Bake in oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Cut into 2 x 1 inch bars.
