- 1/4 C shortening
- 1 1/2 C brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 C sifted flour
- 1 cup nuts or amount desired, optional
