Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups 1% milk or whole milk
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Fresh fruit (diced or cubed)
  • 1 bag crushed ice
  • 4 cups rock salt
  • 16 pint size plastic bags
  • 8 gallon size plastic bags

Preparation

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine first 4 ingredients and stir until sugar is dissolved. Pour 1/2 cup of mixture into pint size bag and seal, squeezing out any air. Place the bag inside another pint bag and seal second bag as first. Fill a gallon bag half full with ice and 1/2 cup rock salt. Place the sealed milk bag into gallon bag and seal as before. Wear gloves or place towel around bag and and shake and squish for about 5 mins or until mixture thickens. Remove from bag, add fresh fruit and serve.
