Ingredients

  • 2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup water

Step 1

Add all ingredient to bread pan in bread machine. Set on DOUGH cycle. When dough cycle is done, remove dough and punch down gently. Let rest 10 minutes. Roll out dough and then form into an 18"-24" baguette, a round loaf or a 12" football shape....OR 6 rolls.


Rub flour on top of bread, cover and let rise on sheet of parchment paper for 45 minutes.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Place pan of boiling water on bottom shelf to create steam for a crisp crust (if desired.) Transfer bread to baking stone with parchment paper.


Bake baguette 15 minutes.
Bake rolls 10-12 minutes.
Bake round or 12" football shape 20 minutes.

Brush bread with butter five minutes before it is done, if desired. This gives the crust a golden color.


NOTE: Sprinkle a little cornmeal on the parchemnt paper if desired. A slit can be made in the top of the bread as well, after rising.
