Ingredients

  • 1 t active dry yeast
  • 2/3 c warm water
  • 2 c AP flour, sifted
  • 1 t salt
  • olive oil as needed

Preparation

Step 1

Combine yeast & water; let sit about 1 minute or until creamy & yeast has dissolved.
Combine flour, salt & yeast mixture in an oiled mixing bowl. Use a dough hook to mix until a ball forms. Turn onto floured surface. Knead until smooth & elastic, about 10 minutes. Place in large greased bowl & cover with plastic wrap. Move bowl to cool place; let rise until doubled in size, about 1-1 1/2 hours.
Turn dough out, divide in 2 pieces. Shape each piece into a ball; let rise again until doubled in size.
Punch down dough. Roll to desired shape. Place on pizza stone sprinkled with a little flour or cornmeal. Top as desired.
Bake 450 for 10-15 minutes.
