Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 and 1/3 cup low fat milk
  • 1 and 1/4 cup parmigiana cheese divided
  • 2 tablespoons 1/3 less fat cream cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups fettuccine (8 oz. uncooked)
  • cracked black pepper

Step 1

Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic, cook 1 minute. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk stirring with a whisk. Cook 6 minutes or until it thickens, stirring constantly. Add 1 cup Parmesan cheese, cream cheese and salt. Stir until smooth. Pour over pasta. Toss and top with remaining 1/4 cup cheese. Garnish with pepper if desired.
