Preparation
Step 1
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside. Cream margarine and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Blend well. Add flavorings. Blend in sifted ingredients, then nuts. Work well with hands. Divide dough into fourths. Roll each fourth on a floured board into a roll about 3” in diameter. Place 2 rolls on a lightly greased cookie sheet – Bake 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and while warm, with a sharp knife, cut each roll diagonally into 1” cookies. Leave on cookie sheet – turn each cookie on its side. Turn off oven and place cookies in oven and leave overnight to dry out. You should turn them over on the other side when it’s convenient for you during the drying cycle. Keep in tin boxes and enjoy. They keep practically forever!
