Ingredients
- 1 lg. red onion, cut into thin wedges
- 2 12-oz. pkgs. frozen cooked Italian meatballs
- 1 24-26 oz. jar marinara sauce
- 1 T. balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 t. crushed red pepper
- 4 roma tomatoes, sliced
- 6 oz. provolone cheese, quartered
- 24 cocktail buns, split & toasted, if desired

Step 1
Place onion wednes in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Top with meatballs. In a medium bowl combine marinara sauce, balsamic vinegar and red pepper. Pour over meatballs.
Cover and cook on low heat setting for 4-5 hours or on high for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
Gently stir mixture in cooker. Place a tomato slice and quartered cheese on bottom half of each bun. Top each with a meatball; place bun top.
Makes 24 sliders
