Ingredients
- 1/2 cup crunchy-style peanut butter
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 16-oz pkg chocolate chips

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat peanut butter, shortening and both sugars, egg, and vanilla until creamy.
Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture; blend well. Fold in chocolate chips.
Drop cookies, about 2 tablespoons mixture, onto greased cookie sheet or baking stone 2 inches apart. Bake 10-15 minutes. Cool 2 minutes on pan then remove to cooling rack.
