Fried Green Tomatoes

This was something I had growing up. In the fall there were lots of tomatoes left over from summer.

Ingredients
- Green tomatoes
- flour
- salt
- pepper

Preparation
Step 1
Slice tomatoes into 1/2 inch slices. Dip in a mixture of flour, salt and pepper. Fry slowly in a little oil until brown. Turn over and brown on the other side.
Alternate dip:
Dip tomato slices in beaten egg mixed with a little water. Dredge in crumbs (bread or crackers) fry quickly in fot fat; salt and pepper.
