Ingredients
- 3 slices bacon; diced
- 1/4 cup onion; finely chopped
- 3 6 oz cans clams; chopped
- 2 lg potatoes; peeled, diced
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper

Preparation
Step 1
In a large saucepan, fry bacon slowly until done but still transparent. Remove and drain on a paper towel. Add chopped onion to bacon drippings and cook over a low heat, stirring occasionally, until soft and transparent. Drain clams, reserve liquid. Set both aside. Add potatoes to saucepan along with reserved bacon and clam juice, plus enough water to make 2 1/2 cups liquid. Cover and bring to a boil; reduce heat and cook until potatoes are tender, 20-30 minutes. add clams, half-and-half, salt and pepper; heat thoroughly. garnish with paprika before serving
