Ingredients

  • 1/2 c butter
  • 8 oz pkg sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 sm onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c whole milk
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 c shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t ground black pepper
  • 2 (28 oz) cans French style green beans, drained (or equivalent frozen green beans if preferred)
  • 2 c French fried onions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 2 1/2 qt baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

In lg skillet, melt butter over med heat. Add mushrooms & onion; cook for about 5 min. until vegetables are tender. Stir in flour & cook for 2 min, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in milk & cook 2-3 min until mixture thickens. Stir in sour cream, cheese, salt, pepper & green beans. Spoon mixture into prepared baking dish.

Bake for 25 minutes. Sprinkle evenly with French fried onions & bake for 15 min longer or until hot & bubbly.
