- 4-1/2 cups flour
- ¾ c. cocoa
- 2 cups butter or margarine, softened
- 1-1/2 c. sugar
- 4 t. vanilla
- ½ t. salt
- slivered almonds

Step 1
Mix flour and cocoa until well blended; set aside. In large bowl of mixer, cream butter, sugar, vanilla and salt until fluffy. Gradually stir in flour mixture until blended. On lightly floured surface, shape dough in 9-inch roll. Wrap airtight; chill several hours or overnight. Cut in ¼ inch slices. Place 1 inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Press almond sliver on each. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 12 minutes. Remove to rack to cool.
