Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1-1/2 cups dark molasses
- 2/3 cup cold water
- 7 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation
Step 1
1. mix brown sugar,shortening,molasses,
and water in large bowl. stir in remaining ingredients.
cover and refrigerate 2 hours.
2. heat oven to 350. grease cookie sheet lightly with shortening.
3. roll dough ti 1/4" thick on floured surface. cut with floured gingerbread cutter.
4. bake 10-12 minutes. remove from cookie sheet, cool on wire rack.
decorate.
