Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup margarine or butter, softened*
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 lrg egg
  • 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour**
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • granulated sugar

Preparation

Step 1


1. mix powdered sugar,
vanilla,margarine,almond extract & egg
in large bowl. Stir in remaining ingredients except granulated sugar.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

2. heat oven to 375. grease cookie sheet lightly with shortening.

3. divide dough in half. roll each half 1/4 inch thick on lightly floured surface. cut into desired shapes.

4. place on cookie sheet and bake 7=8 minutes.
remove fom cookie sheet and cool on wire rack.

5. frost with buttercream frosting tinted with the colors of choice.

* do not use vegetable oil spread.
** if using self rising flour omit the baking soda and cream of tartar
