Ingredients

  • 1 cup (250 ml) butter
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) fine sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (500 ml) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) unsalted macadamia nuts

Preparation

Step 1

1.Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually add the flour and nuts and blend until you have made a soft dough. Roll into a log shape and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill for 3 to 4
hours or until firm.
4. Using a sharp knife, cut into fairly thin slices, place on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until lightly golden and crisp.
5. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
Makes about 2 dozen
