- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 3-ounce package cream cheese,
- softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Finely ground almonds or colored

Step 1
1. In a large mixer bowl, beat together butter and cream cheese. Stir in sugar, almond extract and vanilla.
2. Add flour gradually, beating after each addition till well mixed. Cover and refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes (till easier to work with, but not too chilled).
3. Place dough in cookie press and press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with almonds or sugar. Bake in a 375° oven for 8 to 10 minutes or till edges are firm, but not brown. Cool cookies on wire rack. Makes about 60.
Note: Top cookies with decorative sprinkles before baking, if you like.
