Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 2 C. flour
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 1/2 C. butter, softend
  • 1 to 1 1/2 C. pecans
  • Filling:
  • 2/3 C. butter
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1 C. milk chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

To make crust:
1. Preheat the oven to 350° F.

2. In large bowl, combine flour, 1 C. brown sugar and 1/2 C. butter. Mix well. Press on bottom of 13x9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with pecans.

To make filling:
3. In 1 quart saucepan, combine 2/3 C. butter and 1/2 C. brown sugar. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until mixture comes to boil. Stirring constantly, boil for 1 minute. Pour evenly over pecans on crust.

To bake:
4. Bake in 350°F oven for 18-20 minutes, or until entire caramel layer is bubbly. Remove from oven. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow chips to melt slightly, 2-3 minutes. Swirl chips to make marbled effect. Cool and cut into bars.
