This is my mothers famous recipe. It is the best pumpkin muffin I have ever tasted. It's best without nuts. She used to wrap these up during the holidays and give to the neighbors as gifts.

Ingredients

  • Dry Mixture:
  • 1 3/4 Cups Flour
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Clove
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Pumpkin Mixture:
  • 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 Cup Canned Pumpkin
  • Nuts Optional

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 324 degrees F

Sift dry mixture together, flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon

Mix pumpkin mixture, sugar, oil, water, pumpkin, eggs and nuts.

Combine dry and pumpkin mixture, mix until uniform.

Place in greased loaf pan or muffin tin. Bake at 1 hour 10 minutes until golden brown. Can be served warm.
