Ingredients
- 50 caramels (Kraft)
- 2/3 cup Eaglebrand milk (divided in two) (freeze other ½ for future use)
- 1 pkg German chocolate cake mix
- ¾ cup melted butter
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (browned in 350° oven for 5-10 minutes)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation
Step 1
1- Melt caramels in a “bain-marie” over hot water, when melted, mix in 1/3 cup Eaglebrand milk.
2- Butter and flour 13 X 9 pan
3- In a bowl, combine cake mix, nuts, 1/3 Eaglebrand and melted butter. Mix until crumbly.
4- Press ½ of dough in bottom of prepared 13X 9 pan
5- Bake at 350° for 6 minutes
6- Remove from oven, sprinkle with chocolate chips and pour melted caramel mixture as evenly as possible
7- Crumble remaining dough over caramel
8- Return to oven for 16 minutes
9- Cool on wire rack for 30 minutes and cut into squares.
