MY NOTES: One cup brown or beef or even mushroom gravy
added to this makes it much better. Add the soy sauce and sherry to the gravy first, then add the gravy mixture to the vegetables and meat.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup thin-sliced carrots, if desired
  • ===========================
  • 1/2 pound sirloin steak
  • 3 Tablespoons dry cooking sherry
  • 3 Tablespoons light soy sauce
  • MSG (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper (white?)

Preparation

Step 1

Slice meat diagonally into thin strips. Slice onion. Heat 2 tablespoons vegetable oil in wok or frying pan. Saute onions and peppers and carrots for 3 minutes and then add meat. Saute until pinkness is gone. Add 1 teaspoon MSG, if desired. Add sherry and soy sauce. Add up to 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper. Stir and cover. Bring to a boil, then simmer 1 to 2 minutes on low heat. Serve with hot rice.
