Ingredients

  • 6 cups popped popcorn
  • 3 cups rice Chex
  • 2 cups Cheerios (regular or honey nut)
  • 1 1/2 cups salted peanuts
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
In a large roasting pan, stir together popcorn, cereals, and nuts.
In a heavy 2-3 quart saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat to boiling. Boil 5 minutes WITHOUT stirring. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and baking soda. Pour sugar mixture over popcorn mixture and stir gently to coat evenly. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 10-15 minutes. Cool and store in airtight container.
