Ingredients
- 2 TBSP unsalted butter
- 1 cup chopped onion
- salt, pepper
- 1 TBSP fresh garlic minced
- 12 ounces dried green or yellow split peas, picked and rinsed
- 5 cups chicken broth
- 1 TBSP curry powder

Preparation
Step 1
Place butter into saucepan over med-low heat. Once melted add onion and generous pinch of salt. 2-3 mins. Add garlic and sweat 1-2 mins. No browning.
Add peas, chick broth, curry powder. Increase heat to high and bring to a boil, reduce to low and cover and cook at simmer til peas tender, 45-50 mins. Tast and adjust.
Puree.
