Ingredients

  • • 6 eggs
  • • 1 cup flour
  • • 4 ½ tsp. sugar
  • • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • • pinch of salt
  • • 1 cup milk
  • • 3 tbsp. butter, melted
  • • 1 ½ tsp. vanilla
  • • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • • 2 tbsp. butter
  • • 1/3 cup sugar
  • • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • • pinch nutmeg
  • • 1 apple, peeled, cored, & sliced

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°.

Combine first 6 ingredients and blend until smooth. Add melted butter, vanilla and nutmeg and blend thoroughly. Let batter stand at room temp for 30 minutes.

Place butter in pan and melt in oven. Combine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and sprinkle half of mixture over butter in pan. Layer apple slices evenly over sugar. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixture over apples. Place pan in oven until mixture bubbles (about 4 minutes). Gently pour batter over apples.

Bake 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 325 and bake for 10 minutes. Serves 3-4
