Ingredients
- 2 C. all purpose flour
- 1 C. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 C. orange juice
- 1 T. grated orange peel
- 2 T. shortening
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 1/2 C. fresh or fresh frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 C. chopped nuts

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a bowl mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Stir in orange juice, orange peel, shortening and egg. Mix until well blended. Stir in cranberries and nuts.
3. Turn into a 9x5 inch loaf pan, greased on bottom only. Bake for 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
4. Cool on a rack 15 minutes, remove from pan.
