Ingredients
- 1-3/4 C. unsifted white flour
- 1 T. white sugar
- 1/4 C. cornmeal
- 1 T. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/3 C. unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-tsp. sized pieces and frozen
- 1/2 C. buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 C. cranberries

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
2. In the bowl of a food processor, place all the dry ingredients. Blend. Add butter and process a few seconds, until mixture is texture of coarse meal.
3. Turn the mixture into a medium-sized bowl and mix together with the buttermilk, egg and cranberries until a dough forms.
4. Turn out onto a lightly-floured board and knead gently about five times.
5. Roll out to a thickness of 3/4", keeping the shape as square as possible.
6. Cut into 16 pieces, place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 15 to 18 minutes, until golden.
